Carved out of an old pine plantation, Collier Park Golf Course has been described as Australia's premier public golf course. Offering unequalled quality in both the standard of the course and the amenities, the course is located within six kilometres of the City of Perth, Western Australia. Best described as picturesque and challenging, Collier Park Golf Course is a 27 hole international standard public golf course.
A compilation of the industry's best golf course architects, including Peter Thompson, Michael Wolveridge and Michael Coates, have incorporated a large driving range, huge immaculate putting greens, challenging bunker hazards with each nine holes featuring a lake which is home to a variety of wildlife including ducks, ibis and the occasional black swan. It's slightly narrower and with fewer trees, but the greens are more treacherous and the bunkering set up to challenge the long hitters.
The course features magnificent undulating Santa Ana couch fairways and vast undulating greens surrounded by mounds and tricky slopes. Both fairways and greens are thoughtfully bunkered, generally with large but shallow traps. The course is fully reticulated, and features resort style attention to golfer's requirements.
The first 9 holes at Collier Park Golf Course is known by the name the "Island Nine" and measures 2,961m for men and 2,490m for women and is a par 35. The second 9 is known as the "Pines Nine". A little longer in length measuring 3,103m for men and 2,624m for women. It is rated as a 36 hole par. The final nine and the nearest nine of the golf course is known as the "Lake Nine". Measuring 2,849m for men and 2,358m for women and is a par 35.
